Jammu, Sep 21 : Pakistan army on Saturday violated the truce by firing unprovoked in Shahpur and Kerni sector of Poonch along the Line of Control.
Defence spokesman here said that this morning at around 0945 hrs, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing small arms and shelling with mortars in Shahpur and Kerni sectors.
“Indian Army is befittingly retaliating to the firing,” he said, adding that no injuries or major damage has been reported so far. Earlier on Saturday, they violated the ceasefire in Poonch. On Friday, after continuously shelling forward areas along the LoC, Pakistan violated the ceasefire on IB by firing unprovoked in Samba sector.
Pakistani Rangers during wee hours on Wednesday fired few rounds and violated the ceasefire, official sources said. "They targeted the forward posts in Samba sector," they said adding the BSF effectively retaliated to the firing. On Tuesday also Pakistan Rangers violated the truce agreement by firing unprovoked in Samba and Hiranagar sectors. (UNI)
