The Congress general secretary of UP East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government over the PM’s ‘Howdy Modi’ event at a time when the economy is crawling back to normalcy and unemployment is a serious concern.
Calling the event, which is set to take place on September 22, ‘sponsored’, Priyanka took digs at PM Modi by saying that “investors do not come from sponsored events abroad and that their confidence has staggered”.
“Showing glimpses of a Rs 5-trillion economy daily or managing the headlines of the media does not lead to economic improvement. Investors do not come from sponsored events abroad. The confidence of investors has staggered. The land of economic investment has taken a hit,” Priyanka said in a post on social media platform Twitter.
