New Delhi, Sep 18 : Petrol and diesel prices were hiked sharply for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, oil companies said in the backdrop of tensions in the Middle East.
The one-and-a-half month high was attributed to a sudden spike in crude oil rates following a weekend attack on a Saudi oil facility.
Indian Oil Corporation said the price of petrol in capital Delhi rose by 25 paise to Rs 72.42 per liter.
The price of diesel in Delhi rose by 24 paise to Rs 65.82 per liter.For the past two days, prices of both petrol and diesel have risen by a total of 39 paise each in the national capital.(UNI)
