New Delhi, Sep 18 : The BJP on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court directive to fast pace the hearing on Ayodhya temple dispute that set October 18 as deadline for all parties to finish their argument.
'The entire country is waiting for a final settlement on Ram temple in Ayodhya. There is already a make-shift temple in the tent. Now the wait is for the grand temple,' BJP spokesman Shahnawaz Hussian told reporters.
He also said there was an effort to resolve the issue by negotiations but it did not yield results. He said the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has also said that the court is ready for hearing even on Saturdays. 'It is true there is no point in delaying the issue,' he added.
Another BJP leader Giriraj Singh also welcomed the court's move and said crores of people are waiting for the Ram temple. The top court set October 18 as deadline for all parties to finish their arguments in the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid title suit land dispute case and asked the respective parties to make all the necessary efforts to conclude their arguments and submissions before the deadline.
