New Delhi, Sep 15 : Air Force Association (AFA) celebrated its annual day on Sunday, with wreath laying ceremony at National War Memorial in the memory of those who laid down their lives for the motherland.
AFA President Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha (Retd) placed the wreath here. IAF Chief ACM BS Dhanoa addressed the gathering, an IAF spokesperson said.
Air Force Association is a welfare organization in the non-governmental sector, actively involved in the welfare of air veterans and their families.
The association was established on September 15, 1980 under the patronage of Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh DFC.
It has 19 branches spread all over the country. In addition, it has two branches in the UK and Australia.
It has 87,173 air veteran members and 5,879 spouse members.(UNI)
