Ranchi, Sep 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Pradhanmantri Kisan Mandhan Yojana online during his visit to the state on September 12.
In the first phase one lakh farmers will be covered under the scheme.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal and Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal today held a review meeting with the DCs of the state to assess the progress in implementation of the state.
Mr Barnwal asked all the DCs to complete the task under the scheme with full dedication for which regular camps should be organised in the panchayats and online registration of the farmers should be done so that they can get advantage of the scheme.
Dr Barnwal said that even after the start of the scheme on September 12 the work to link the farmers with the scheme will continue and asked the DCs to ensure that camps are regularly organised in the villages.
He said that awareness about the scheme should be done in such a manner so that farmers in far flung areas can take advantage of the scheme and they can come forward to take advantage of the scheme and it will also strengthen the bodies of Panchayati raj bodies.
He said that the work of registration of farmers should be taken to the panchayat level and should not be confined to the district level.
Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal in her address asked the officials to ensure presence of farmers from every state during the function on September 12 and said that identity cards should be given to the farmers who would be participating in the scheme so that they can be provided better facilities during their visit to Ranchi.
She said that better response has been generated in the state for registration of farmers under the scheme as data entry of 65,000 farmers has been completed and the state ranked 6th in the country.
She asked the officials to make more efforts so that target to cover one lakh farmers can be achieved. (UNI)
