New Delhi, Sep 9: National Students' Union of India (NSUI) vice presidential candidate for Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) 2019-20 elections, Ankit Bharti has been allegedly attacked by ABVP goons during his campaign in College of Vocational Studies (CVS) on Monday.
''NSUI vice president candidate Ankit Bharti has been allegedly attacked by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) goons during his campaign in College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University. He has been rushed to Hospital for treatment,'' the NSUI spokesperson said.
The ABVP and NSUI on September 5 had announced the list of their candidates who will fight the DUSU 2019-20 elections, to be held on September 12. Elections for President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary for DUSU are to be held.
BJP supported ABVP's panel for DUSU Elections 2019 comprises President: Akshit Dahiya, Vice President: Pradeep Tanwar, Secretary: Yogit Rathi, Joint Secretary: Shivangi Kharwal. While NSUI panel candidates are--President: Chetna Tyagi,Vice President: Ankit Bharti, Secretary: Aashish Lamba, and Joint Secretary: Abhishek Chaprana.
These two student organizations mainly compete in DUSU elections. (UNI)
