New Delhi, Sep 3: Chandni Chowk MLA Alka Lamba on Tuesday met Congress chief Sonia Gandhi here.
After meeting the UPA chairperson, Lamba said that Mrs Gandhi, who is not only the Congress president, but a tall leader with secular credential.
Ms Lamba said, a discussion with the UPA chief regarding the current situation of the country was long overdue and she had a long discussion with her.
Ms Lamba had earlier announced that she will soon resign from the primary membership from the Aam Aadmi Party.
She had said that she is likely to contest the upcoming Assembly polls as an independent candidate.
Ms Lamba had refrained from campaigning in the last General Elections for the AAP.
She had also refused to campaign for the party in the Lok Sabha polls and refrained from participating in Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's roadshow after she was asked to walk behind his car during the event.
Ms Lamba meeting Mrs Gandhi has triggered speculations of her going back to the Congress, where she was prior to joining the AAP. (UNI)
