New Delhi, Aug 31: Attacking the narendra Modi Government on the GDP for the first quarter of the current fiscal year slumping to 5 per cent, AICC General secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday said the BJP , which blows trumpet of 'acche din' (good days) should tell the country who is responsible for the current state of the economy.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Vadra said,''It is clear from the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) growth rate that the BJP government, which blows the trumpet of good days, has punctured the economy. Neither is there any GDP growth nor is the rupee stronger. Employment rate is on a decline. It should be made clear now as to who is to blame for destroying the economy.''
The National Statistical Office (NSO) on Friday released India's gross domestic product (GDP) numbers for April-June quarter, which showed the GDP growth slip to a six-year low of five per cent as compared to 5.8 per cent in the previous quarter as consumer demand and government spending slowed amid global trade frictions.
