Agency News

New Delhi, Aug 29: The Central Bureau of Investigation has sought Lok Sabha Speaker's permission to prosecute three Trinamool Congress MPs in connection with the Narda sting of 2016 wherein leaders allegedly accepted illegal money. According to sources, the probe agency has written to LS Speaker Om Birla asking to act against the three Trinamool MPs.

The TMC MPs against whom the probe agency has sought permission to prosecute are Saugata Roy, Prasun Banerjee, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and and one more former TMC MP, the sources added. In 2016, video clips that came out prior to the elections in West Bengal allegedly showed Trinamool leaders taking bribes. (UNI)
