New Delhi, Aug 28 : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday said all the Speakers of Legislative Assemblies are of one opinion that there should be a Model Code of Conduct(MCC) to see that there is no disruptions in the proceedings of the House.
Briefing media persons after the conclusion of the meeting of Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies in the country, the Lok Sabha Speaker said all the Speakers and presiding officers were of one opinion that there should be constructive discussions in Legislative Assemblies.
He said a committee would be formed for making the MCC to check disruptions in the Assemblies. The Speaker said in today's meeting 30 Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies across the country participated.
In the meeting, it was also discussed that how to utilize the time in session in Legislative Assemblies and also there should be less expenditure, he said.
The Speaker said there will be a meeting of Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies in November in Dehradun where final decision on the proposals will be taken. (UNI)
