Former Union finance minister Arun Jaitley who died on Saturday will be cremated at Nigambodh ghat on Sunday. “Former finance minister Arun Jaitley's mortal remains will be cremated at Delhi's Nigam Bodh Ghat tomorrow,” said BJP working President J P Nadda on Saturday. But the timing for the cremation is yet to be decided. Arun Jaitley breathed his last at Delhi’s AIIMS on Saturday afternoon.
The veteran leader was one of the most articulate defenders of the BJP. Mortal remains of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has later taken to his residence at Kailash Colony from All India Institutes of Medical Sciences. Cutting across party lines many leaders arrived to pay their last tribute to Jaitley who known as the bulwark of Modi government.
A brief statement, the hospital said Jaitley died at 12.07 pm. Jaitley, a lawyer by profession, had been a key member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet in the BJP government's first term. He held the finance and defence portfolios, and often acted as the chief troubleshooter of the government.
