Kolkata, Aug 22: Possible terror threat to BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has not only led the Central government to upgrade and tighten his security further but also shifted him to a new home in the city to accommodate more security staff.
The central intelligence agencies intercepted some inputs of possible attack by some terror groups on BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who has been always on move for the saffron camp. Following the warnings from the central intelligence agencies to the Union Home Ministry, which on Wednesday ordered enhancement of security staff to 30 from existing 18 and shifted him to a new home to accommodate more security personnel?
The Home Ministry opined that the present security status for Mr Ghosh was not adequate and he needs to be guarded against possible terror groups' attacks. Mr Ghosh was residing in a two-storey house at Salt Lake where 18 security staff used to stay on the ground floor and Mr Ghosh on top floor.
Mr Ghosh, who is also the Lok Sabha member from Kharagpur segment, has been given Z category security from Y plus with immediate effect.
Mr Ghosh's elevation to the state president from RSS cadre led the BJP to grab a big chunk of Lok Sabha seats to 18 in 2019 from 2 in 2014 out of total 42 MP seats in West Bengal. (UNI)
