New Delhi, Aug 21: The Congress on Tuesday charged the Narendra Modi government of indulging in 'worst kind of virulent vendetta' after a team of the CBI and Enforcement Directorate(ED) went to the house of senior party leader and former Union Minister P Chidambaram to arrest him in the INX media case.

The CBI action came after the Delhi Hugh court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea by Chidambaram in the case. ''India witnesses worst kind of virulent vendetta by Modi Govt as the BJP runs a police state. Judge reserves judgement for 7 months & delivers it 72 hours before retirement, CBI/ED are sent to raid as a respected former FM is hounded,''AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet.

It is notable that Chidambaram on Tuesday moved the Supreme court against the Delhi high court order. The apex court has scheduled to hear the plea by Chidambaram on Wednesday.UNI
