Close on the heels of the Enforcement Directorate(ED), the CBI has also sent a lookout notice on Wednesday to the former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram who is on run to evade arrest. The CBI and ED issued a Look out circular to prevent him from leaving the country. Chidambaram, facing threat of arrest in INX media case, failed on Wednesday to get protection from the Supreme Court which decided to hear on Friday his petition seeking anticipatory bail.
The move comes after the Delhi High Court dismissed the former Finance Minister’s anticipatory bail in connection with the INX Media case. After the Delhi High Court rejected anticipatory bail plea, Chidambaram has gone incommunicado from Tuesday night onwards. The attempt to arrest former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram by CBI and ED officials failed as they could not trace him on Tuesday night. Sources said that the CBI team visited Chidambaram’s residence four times in Delhi.
