Congress leader and Senior counsel Kapil Sibal will move the former finance minister P. Chidambaram’s plea against arrest in Supreme Court on Wednesday. While speaking to media, Kapil Sibal said that he will take the matter before the Chief Justice of India on Wednesday. The plea was moved in Supreme Court after deliberations among Congress legal experts such as Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Kapil Sibal and Salman Khurshid.
The attempt to arrange an urgent hearing in Supreme Court on Tuesday afternoon did not find a success. Chidambaram is currently facing imminent arrest as the Delhi HC also turned down his anticipatory bail plea in the INX Media case. Though the media persons approached both Chidambaram and Kapil Sibal, both did not respond.
