Patna, Aug 20 : A Barh-based court today issued arrest warrant against Independent MLA from Mokama Anant Sing in a case related to recovery of A K 47 assault rifle from his ancestral house.
Additional chief judicial magistrate Kumar Madhavendra on the request of police issued an arrest warrant against Mr Singh in the case related to recovery of A K 47 rifle and two hand grenades from his ancestral house.
Police had seized A K 47 rifle and two hand grenades from his ancestral house at Ladma village under Barh sub divisional area in Patna district in the wee hours on Friday. Later, police had registered an FIR against Mr Singh under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act late evening same day. It was the first action taken against anybody under the amendment act.
After the registration of FIR against Mr Singh, police had conducted raids at his mall in the state capital and also at his official residence but he made good his escape after he got an inkling of police raid.Police had arrested a criminal Chhotan Singh from his residence.
Chhotan Singh was absconding in a case of firing. Nearly 22 cases of murder are registered against Chhotan. On the other hand, the court rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Mr Singh in an audio clipping case related to Mr Singh giving ‘supari’ to criminals for killing two people.
The court also issued an arrest warrant against two associates of Mr Singh- Lallu Mukhiya and Ranvir Yadav in this case. (UNI)
