SAIL’s Chairman Attacked

Delhi, 08 Aug, 2019: The chairman of SAIL, India's largest public sector steel producer, was attacked by some miscreants with iron rods in the national capital on Wednesday night. Anil Kumar Chaudhary, 58, was on his way back home from work when his car was hit by another vehicle in which miscreants came in. Mr Chaudhary's driver was unharmed. Later, the police nabbed two of the assailants, says a SAIL statement.

A complaint had been registered at the New Delhi's Hauz Khas Police Station. The chairman was taken to the trauma center of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and has since been discharged, the company said. The reason behind the attack is yet to be revealed. The attack took place during the crucial time of the company which is set to announce its June quarter results on Friday.
