Anurag Thakur, Babul Supriyo, Manoj Tiwari pay tribute to Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi, Aug 6: Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur, MoS for Environment Babul Supriyo and Delhi BJP president and MP Manoj Tiwari paid tribute to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at her residence. Sushma Swaraj's mortal remains are being kept at her residence for people to pay their last respects. Mortal remains of the former External Affairs Minister were taken from All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to her residence.

The former External Affairs Minister and senior BJP leader passed away on late Tuesday evening. She was 67. Swaraj was rushed to AIIMS in critical condition where she was declared dead. Several top BJP leaders and Union Ministers including party BJP MPs had arrived at AIIMS. Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad had also reached AIIMS.

Talking to mediapersons, BJP working president JP Nadda informed that Sushma Swaraj's mortal remains will be kept at her residence till 11am on Wednesday for people to pay their last respects. He said around 12noon on Wednesday, her mortal remains will be brought to the party headquarters.  At 3pm, her mortal remains will be taken to Lodhi Road crematorium, where her last rites will be performed with full state honours.

Born on February 14, 1953, a trained legal counsel Late Swaraj has served as the Minister of External Affairs of India from May 26, 2014 to May 30, 2019. UNI
