New Delhi, Aug 6 : Bharatiya Janata Party ally Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday staged walkout of Lok Sabha as opposed to Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill.
The Rajya Sabha on Monday passed the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill to repeal Article 370 of the Constitution which granted special status to J&K and to bifurcate it into two union territories--Ladhakh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The decision of the party to stage walkout from Lok Sabha was announced by JD(U) member Rajiv Rajan Singh while participating in the debate on the Bill.''We want that Article 370 should not be revoked," Mr Singh said. Cautioning the government, the JD(U) pointed the terror incidents that took place in the northern state from 2004 to 2015.

However, Singh welcomed the amendments made to NIA and UAPA Acts. JD(U) had walkout during the debate on the Bill in Rajya Sabha on Monday too. (UNI)
