New Delhi, Aug 3 : At a time when the country's economy has been witnessing a sharp slowdown, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took on Narendra Modi-led BJP government and said the BJP "can only destroy what was built over decades with passion and hard work."
"The BJP Government can't build anything. It can only destroy what was built over decades with passion and hard work", Rahul tweeted. Rahul Gandhi's criticism comes days after the government data showed the growth of eight core industries - coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertiliser, steel, cement and electricity - dropped to 0.2 per cent in June, this year.
He has also shared GIF image that carries various media reports indicating the slowdown of the economy including, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) chairman AM Naik's comment on country's economy, Indian Railways' plan to hive off three lakh employees, automobile section witnesses worst July sales in two decades and BSNL, MTNL fail to pay July salary to 1.98 lakh employees.
Mr Gandhi had criticised the Modi government, on Thursday, and said the 'economy has been derailed'. "Mr Prime Minister, the economy has derailed and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. If your incompetent Finance Minister is telling you there is light, trust me it's the train of recession coming at full throttle," Mr Gandhi had said. (UNI)
