New Delhi, Jul 29 : Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Monday requested Yogi Adityanath government to urgently air lift both the victims who were critically injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh, and ensure free of cost treatment in best private hospital in the national capital.
The DCW Chairperson visited Lucknow's King George Medical University Trauma Centre to meet Unnao rape case victim on Monday.
Ms Maliwal wrote a letter to the UP CM on Unnao rape case victim who was critically injured, while two of her aunts were killed in a road accident in Rae Bareli on Sunday. Her lawyer who was also travelling in the same car sustained serious injuries in the accident with a truck which had its number plate blackened.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Maliwal said,'My letter to @myogiadityanath on Unnao case. Request him to urgently air lift both victims, DCW will ensure free of cost treatment in best Pvt Hospital in Delhi. Also file FIR & remove Kuldeep Sengar from post of MLA and BJP membership!Urgently they need to be sent to Delhi!'
"I have visited the girl today and she and her lawyer are very critical. The doctors have informed that they may not survive and urgently need the best medical care. I am deeply disturbed with the state of affairs and the fact that no one from the UP government has even bothered to visit the victim. In fact, all the evidence points to it being a conspiracy, the UP police is trying to brand the incident as a mere accident and is taking no steps to investigate the incident," the letter read.
"In view of the serious prevailing circumstances, exemplary action is warranted from your high office immediately. I request you to urgently act on the following-- The Commission during its interaction with the family members of the victims as well as doctors is of the view that the victims should be urgently treated in the best hospital of Delhi. In this regard, I have spoken with the best private hospital in Delhi who are willing to treat the victims free of cost. The Commission requests you to urgently intervene and ensure that the girl and her lawyer are airlifted today itself and the Commission shall ensure that they receive the best possible treatment. Any further delay will only further endanger the life of the victims. Also, they will always remain in danger till they remain in UP as the accused is a sitting MLA," the letter said.(UNI)
