New Delhi, Jul 28 : President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday departed for the state visits to Benin, The Gambia and Guinea.
According to the official Twitter account of Rashtrapati Bhavan, 'President Kovind departs for state visits to Benin, The Gambia and Guinea. This is his first state visits in the third year of his Presidency. This is the first ever state visit of the President of India to any of these three countries'.
'President’s visit to Benin, The Gambia and Guinea, will be his fourth visit to African continent. The visit of the President will further deepen India’s relations with African nations. This is also the first standalone visit of the President of India to west Africa,' the tweet said.
'The President will hold delegation-level talks with the leadership of the host countries to strengthen ties in keys sectors such as trade, investment and energy. He will address the National Assembly of Guinea and The Gambia and will interact with the Indian community,' it added. (UNI)
