The path to achieve the target of a $5-trillion economy passes through Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, and expressed confidence the State will contribute to it by becoming a 1-trillion dollar economy.
At the second groundbreaking ceremony for industrial projects worth Rs 65,000 crore in Lucknow, Shah said the Prime Minister has set the target for the country to be among the top three economies in the next five years.
'This is the thinking behind the 5-trillion dollar economy target,” he said.
Like the first groundbreaking ceremony, which took place last year, this also aims at bringing investments in the state. Shah laid the foundation for 250 projects worth Rs 65,000 crores.
Shah said he has heard that the path to become prime minister passes through UP. Similarly, the path of India becoming a 5-trillion dollar economy also passes through the state.
'The path to become a 5-trillion economy passes through UP and I am sure that the state will contribute to it.'
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last week said UP has the potential to become a $1-trillion economy and though it was a big target, not impossible to achieve as the State had the requisite resources and manpower.
