New Delhi, Jul 27 : Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Derek O'Brien has been asked to join the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case pertaining to the Saradha ponzi scheme case and appear before the probe agency for the same in the first week of the coming month.
According to sources, he may be questioned in the probe related to some transactions pertaining to the Jago Bangla , the TMC newspaper whose publisher is O'Brien.
In a post on social media, Derek O ‘Brien said that he was also summoned back in February when the House was in session , and that he had written back that time stating that he would appear after the Parliament session was over.
Thus time again when the probe agency has summoned him , he has again informed the agency that he would appear after the session gets over.
'Since February , I have not received any intimation from CBI, Now, during this Parliament session, I was served a notice asking me appear before CBI on August 1. I have sent them a letter stating that i would meet after the Parliament session is over.', said O'Brien in his statement on his official twitter handle.
Derek said that he was willing to appear before the CBI and would not be intimidated .(UNI)
