New Delhi, Jul 25: Law Minister and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday took a dig at Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha and said some vocal voices have gone 'khamosh' - silent - but the Lok Sabha cannot remain silent when it came to pushing the Triple Talaq Bill once again."Now that I have become a member of this House, I would like to say some leaders have gone silent," he said in Lok Sabha while speaking on the the Muslim Women - Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill, 2010. "....ek awaz khamosh hae (One voice has gone silent)," he said without taking names.
The reference was obviously to his predecessor and actor-turned-politician Sinha - who represented Patna Sahib parliamentary constituency in 2009 and 2014 as a BJP leader. The word "Khamosh" - meaning silence please - used to be one of the much popular words used by Sinha in one of the popular films. In this year's fiercely fought Lok Sabha polls, Mr Sinha lost to Ravi Shankar Prasad by a margin of 2,84,657 votes.
Later in the day, Lok Sabha gave its nod to the Bill. (UNI)
