New Delhi, Jul 25: The Lok Sabha proceedings in the ongoing Budget session of Parliament would stand extended till August 7.
This was announced by Speaker Om Birla in the House on Thursday.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi requested the chair that the proceedings of the House need to be extended as there were still 17 pending Bills.
Mr Birla then made the announcement. Earlier, sources said enthused by the keenness shown by members especially first timers and guided by the 'necessity' to push a series of important draft legislation, the government had proposed for extending the ongoing Budget session of Parliament by seven to ten working days.
