New Delhi, Jul 25 : Delhi Commission for Women's chief Swati Maliwal on Thursday hit out at Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan over his controversial remarks in the House and said those who made such a comment should not have a place in the Parliament.
She further said that strict action must be taken against Khan and he should be sent to a mental asylum and then jail. 'Shame on Azam Khan. Such lecherous comment against MP sitting on Speaker Chair. A man with such notorious reputation of vile speech against women has no right to be in Parliament. When will Centre create law to arrest such politicians? Send this man 2 mental asylum and then jail!', said Ms Maliwal taking to the micro blogging site Twitter.
Azam Khan on Thursday reportedly made a remark on BJP MP Rama Devi who was in the chair, and said 'Aap mujhe itni acchi lagti hain ki mera mann karta hai ki aap ki aankhon mein aankhein dale rahoon'.
Meanwhile, Maliwal also hit out at MP Asaduddin Owaisi's argument regarding the triple talaq bill in the lower house of the Parliament on Thursday, which was anti-Muslim women, according to the DCW chief.
'Owaisi’s argument that Triple Talaq Bill is against Muslim women is not just moronic but also reveals a deeply patriarchal mindset. When people like Owaisi & Azam Khan get away with anti women statements in Parliament on the same day, no wonder women in the country suffer so much', said Maliwal taking to Twitter. (UNI)
