44 private member business bills, Gambhir raises issue of ‘ ‘assault’ on medicos

New Delhi, Jul 26 : As many as 44 bills were introduced on Friday in the private members' business including one by cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir for protection of medical and health service professionals against assaults by public.

East Delhi lawmaker introduced the bill to provide for protection of medical and health service professionals against assaults, use of criminal forces and intimidation.Biju Janata Dal member Bhartruhari Mahtab introduced a bill to regulate termination of life of people who are in permanent vegetative state or terminally ill.

DMK leader Kanimozhi introduced a bill to abolish death penalty in the country.Ban of single-use plastic and fake news were among the issues among the 44 legislations introduced in the Lok Sabha.

The House resumed debate on Compulsory voting Bill, 2019 moved by Janardhan Singh 'Sigriwal'.

BJP member Jagdambika Pal supported the bill and said participation of the whole country is only possible when all sections vote for their representatives.''If 100 per cent voting takes place, the politics of caste and creed will end.
