New Delhi, Jul 22: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2pm on Monday following Opposition uproar over issues, including Karnataka crisis and Human Rights report 2018.
This was the second adjournment today leading to suspension of the 'Zero Hour' and 'Question Hour' . Soon after the House re-assembled the at 12 noon, when Deputy Chairman Harivansh tried to initiate Question Hour, the Opposition lawmakers from Congress, All India Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party were again up on their feet demanding a discussion on the issues.His efforts to pacify the agitating Members and bring them to co-operate in transaction of business went in vain. The Opposition Members did not pay any heed to the Deputy Chairman’s advise and continued sloganeering.
Mr Harivansh was then forced to adjourn the House till 2pm.Earlier also, the House was adjourned on the same issues despite Chairman M Venkaih Naidu stating that the Karnataka issue was pending before the Supreme Court and Human Right report was of 2018.
'The Karnataka issue is pending before the Supreme Court and the notice given by the Member on Human Right report is of year 2018 so how he cannot allow to discuss these in the House', Mr Naidu had said.(UNI)
