New Delhi, Jul 19 : The Minister of States for Agriculture Purushottam Rupala on Friday in the Rajya Sabha objected the mention of Rafale, Ambani and Adani while replying on a Private Members Bill.
He said industrialists Anil Ambani and Gautam Adani are often being targeted by the Opposition parties because of their Gujarati origins. Mr Rupala was replying to the resolution moved by the BJP lawmaker Vijay Pal Singh Tomar on the constitution of Farmers Commission, and said during the debate on the farmers’ condition and agriculture, the mention of Rafale, Ambani and Adani is unfortunate.
Anil Ambani got sub-contract of only Rs 800 crore from the manufacturer of Rafale but they put Rs 30,000 crore in his pocket. “ I fail to understand how Anil Ambani got Rs 30,000 crore from the contract of only Rs 800 crore”, he asked. Both are getting targeted because of being Gujaratis, he said.
Then the AAP lawmaker Sanjay Singh objected and asked him as to how come the issue of being Gujaratis came in to this debate? Earlier, the AAP member had said during debate that the lands acquired by the government were given to the industrialists like Ambani and Adani.(UNI)
