New Delhi, Jul 5 : Human Resource Development Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ appreciated the Union Budget 2019-20 and expressed gratitude to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for giving priority to education sector and overall development of the students.
He said that the aspirations of all stakeholders in the education sector would be met by this Budget.
The Minister expressed his happiness over the increased allocation of Budget in Education sectors.
He lauded the creation of the National Research Foundation, which would play a key role in coordinating the research efforts of all Ministries in the Government.
Total Budget allocation for the HRD Ministry has increased from Rs. 85,010 Crore in 2018-19 to Rs. 94,853.64 Crore in 2019-20
Total Budget allocation for the HRD Ministry is enhanced by Rs. 9843.64 crore
Total budget allocation for Higher Education is Rs. 38,317 Cr, which is a 9.4% increase over the previous year.
There has been an overall increase of Rs 6422.88 Crore (12.81%) in the Budget Allocation of Department of School Education and Literacy in the FY 2019-20.
An amount of Rs. 400 Cr allocated for creating world class educational institutions.
The Government to bring New education policy for reforms in school and higher education.
The National Research Foundation (NRF) announced to step up research in thrust areas.(UNI)
