New Delhi, Jul 3: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said the government would establish a framework to double farm exports to about Rs7 lakh crore from Rs2.75 lakh crore by 2024-2025.
Goyal said he had three rounds of consultations with Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in this regard and stressed that the two ministries would work in close coordination.
Speaking at a curtain raiser on the October 11-13 India International Cooperatives Trade Fair in the national capital, he announced that a Cooperative Sector Export Promotion Forum will be established as an exchange platform for the cooperatives in India. Goyal said that the IICTF is a unique concept and opportunity which would take the mass movement of farm cooperatives to an international level. UNI
