New Delhi, Jun 28 : As many as 33 states, including Congress-ruled Punjab and Rajasthan, have associated with the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Lok Sabha was informed on Friday.''Thirty three states have signed MoUs for the Ayushman Bharat scheme and Rajasthan and Punjab have also associated with the programme,'' Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Choubey said while responding to supplementaries during Question Hour.
Odisha, Telangana and Delhi have not signed the MoU for implementation of AB-PMJAY while West Bengal has opted out of the scheme in January 2019.Ayushman Bharat Yojana comprises of two components --comprehensive primary healthcare through Ayushman Bharat - Health and Wellness Centre (PM AWC) and Ayushman Bharat Prabhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana(PM JAY), the minister said.
Three crore families have been benefited with the ABY and ecards issued to them, he said, adding that letters have been given to 10 crore families who can go to empanelled hospital for treatment.Mr Choubey said due to seasonal influenza (HINI), 26,140 cases were reported in 2019 and 1,076 deaths took place because of the disease.(UNI)
