New Delhi, Jun 28: Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain a plea filed by the Delhi Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, Devinder Kumar Sehrawat, against his imminent threat of disqualification from the party.
The apex court vacation bench, headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, asked Sehrawat, to raise his points and submissions before the Delhi Assembly Speaker.
"You (Devinder Kumar Sehrawat) raise your points and defend before the Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker. We are not inclined to hear your petition at this time," the bench of the top court said in its order.
Sehrawat was disqualified and served a notice by the Delhi Legislative Assembly speaker under the anti defection law for having joined the BJP.
The MLA sought to reply on the Amar Singh case to contend that an expelled member would not be subject to disqualification proceedings. (UNI)
