Srinagar, Jun 27: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday discussed about the development of the state, an official spokesman said here.
Mr Shah on his maiden two-day visit to Kashmir valley after assuming the office of Union Home Minister arrived here on Wednesday and held a number of meetings to review overall security situation, particularly measures made for the annual pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, commencing from July 1.
He also chair a high level meeting to review the development of the state.
The spokesman said Mr Malik and Mr shah had discussions on wide ranging issues relating to the equitable growth and development of the State.
The Governor presented to Mr Shah handicraft items representing the exquisite craftsmanship of Kashmir and Ladakh and a commemorative coin of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Mr Malik thanked Home Minister for his visit to the State. (UNI)
