New Delhi, Jun 25: Union Home minister Amit Shah is likely to go on a two-day visit to Srinagar starting on June 26 , a source in the security set up said here.
This would be his maiden visit after he assumed charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs on June 1. Earlier, the Home Minister was scheduled to visit the valley for a day on June 30 but his programme has been preponed due to his engagement in the Parliament ahead of the Union Budget.
According to the source, Mr Shah will review a high level security meeting and also arrangements for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra commencing on July 1.
Chairing high level security meeting at Srinagar, Mr Shah will review the prevailing security scenario in the state with state administration and other security stakeholders, the sources added.
He will also meet Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik separately.
The source also said he is likely to meet BJP workers and Panchayat members. (UNI)
