New Delhi, Jun 1 : Virendra Kumar was sworn in as the Protem Speaker of the Lok Sabha on Monday by President Ram Nath Kovind .
He administered the oath of office to Kumar at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Kumar will administer the oath for newly elected LS members on the first two days of the session.
He will be the Protem Speaker till Wednesday on the day of the election of the new Speaker of the 17th Lok Sabha.
The 65-year old BJP member was elected from Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh.
The first session of the Lok Sabha will be from June 17 to July 26. (UNI)
