New Delhi, Jun 15 : Western Railway on Saturday decided to withdraw the proposal of providing head, neck and foot massages to the passengers of trains originating from Indore.
'Proposal for introduction of head or foot massage services to be provided in the trains originating from Indore was initiated by Ratlam Division of Western Railways. As soon as this proposal came to the notice of higher authorities of Western Railways, it has been decided to withdraw this proposal of starting massage services in trains,' an official statement here said.
However, other suggestions regarding the necessary passenger amenities have also been expressed by various representatives. Western Railway respects the suggestions given by its consumers and their appropriate suggestions are also implemented from time to time.Western Railways also appreciates the positive suggestions of public representatives, railway consumers, and public at large, it said.
'It is committed to providing the comfortable, secured and safe service and in due course better services in better way will be provided to all the passengers,' the statement said.On June 8, Railways had come up with a unique idea of providing head and foot massage facilities to passengers in 39 trains originating from Indore railway station which was supposed to get could in next 15-20 days, according to a Railway official.
This concept would have promoted new ideas and concepts related to passenger convenience together with enhancing Non Fare Revenue, which comes under New, Innovative No Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme. (UNI)
