Thousands of Cong, IUML supporters parade to greet Rahul Gandhi

Kalikavu (Malappuram) Jun 7: Braving the monsoon rains, thousands of Congress supporters and workers of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) were on the streets to greet AICC President Rahul Gandhi here on Friday evening.
Addressing the people gathered all around the town junction here, Mr Gandhi said he is committed to serve the people of his constituency.
On the overwhelming reception, the Congress Chief said apart from Congress, the one close to his heart would be the people of Wayanad.
"As an MP of Wayanad, I would not only be highlighting the needs of Wayanad but also Kerala in the Parliament. My job is to listen to the people of my constituency and serve them", Mr Gandhi said.
Addressing the gathering standing on a specially designed rain-proof vehicle, Mr Gandhi assured the gathering that he will be visiting his constituency again to hear their issues.
Thanking all the people of Wayanad, cutting across party affiliations, Mr Gandhi said he is duty bound to understand and address the issues of each and every citizen of his constituency and work to improve their life.
Later, Mr Gandhi proceeded to his next destination, Edavanna. The Congress Chief will also stage road shows at Nilambur and Areekode before making it to Wayanad, where he will stay in the Government guest house.
