Nizamabad polls enters into Country book of World Records

Hyderabad, Jun 2: The election Commission of India (ECI) and Telangana state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) have created an official record in the Country Book of World Records for the conduct of polls in Nizamabad parliamentary constituency, where highest number of 185 candidates contested in an election for the seat of a Member of Parliament.

The Country Book of World Records approved the records and has sent letters to Nizamabad parliamentary constituency elected representative and ECI.

For conduct of the elections in Nizamabad on April 11, there were 26,820 ballot units, 2000 control units and 2,000 VVPATs were prepared by 600 engineers and 2,000 election personnel in five-days using 15 halls with 149 tables.

The Country Book of World Records is planning to present records through the President of India and Prime Minister shortly. (UNI)
