New Delhi, Jun 3 : Union Minister Arjun Munda took charge as Tribal Affairs minister on Monday.Mr Munda reached his office this morning and Secretary of the Ministry Deepak Khandekar welcomed him with a bouquet.
Senior officials of the Ministry were also present on the occasion.Later, Mr Munda told reporters that his priority would be to implement policies made by the government for the tribal society effectively.
He said that nobody can snatch the rights of tribals on the land and forest resources. Mr Munda stressed that tribal society will be included in the process of policy making. He said that tribal society will be consulted in formulating and implementing policies.
The Union Minister said that the policies of the government have increased the income of tribal society. He said that the skills of the tribal youth are being developed to connect them with mainstream society.
'Government is making special efforts to provide employment to tribal youth.Young people are being trained to value the products being grown in the forest,and they will get employment at the local level,' he added. (UNI)
