New Delhi, May 31: A few hours after being sworn in as Cabinet minister, BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for reposing faith in him and congratulated Modi for being sworn in as the Prime Minister for a second consecutive term.
'Thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji for reposing faith in me. Your leadership and continued support is a great source of inspiration. I assure you that I will put my best efforts to serve our people and country,' Shah said in a series of tweets.
He also congratulated all his colleagues who were sworn in as ministers in the Modi government. 'Let us work hard to take forward the pledge of creating a strong and prosperous new India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi ji,' he wrote.
He said in the last five years, India has witnessed an era of unprecedented growth in every field. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi govt has laid the foundation of a new India, which is not only asserting itself in the world order but also working tirelessly to lift living standards of its citizens,' he said.
Historic moment for the entire India, he wrote and congratulated Modi on being sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a second consecutive term. 'I am sure India will continue to scale new heights under your able leadership,' he said.
Modi’s team 2.0 represented a mix of seasoned political leaders, and fresh faces. During the nearly two-hour long ceremony, 58 ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by President Ram Nath Kovind. The Modi team included 25 Cabinet rank ministers, including the Prime Minister, nine Ministers of State with Independent charge and 24 Ministers of State.
