UK court extends Nirav Modi’s remand till June 27

London, May 30 : A UK court on Thursday extended till June 27 the police remand of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi who is fighting his extradition to India.
The Westminster Court of Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot passed the order during a hearing of the case.
The judge also asked the Indian government to provide information within 14 days in which prison he will held at.
Earlier this month, the same court had rejected Modi's third attempt to seek bail.
Modi has been lodged at Wandsworth prison in south-west London.
In March, UK court issued arrest warrant against Nirav Modi on request of Enforcement Directorate's (ED). Later, he was arrested by Scotland Yard.
Modi, 48, is facing fraud and money laundering charges for defrauding over 14,000 crore from the Punjab National Bank (PNB). (UNI)
