New Delhi, May 30 : All eyes were on forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan where the stage is set for the second time crowning of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister on Thursday.
BJP president Amit Shah was among the early birds to arrive at the venue which will be attended by a galaxy of international guests and heads of BIMSTEC nations.
Mr Shah , who will be joining the government, was seen exchanging pleasantries with Samajwadi Party stalwart Mulayam Singh Yadav, several BJP leaders and other dignitaries.Among others, former President Pratibha Patil, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani with his wife Nita, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, BJP veteran L K Advani, actor Rajanikanth and chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Vijay Rupani of Gujarat, Conrad Sangma of Meghalaya and Neiphiu Rio were also present.
The Prime Minister has invited BIMSTEC nations and government heads for the solemn occasion.The swearing-in ceremony is likely to be attended by about 8,000 guests - almost double the number than that of 2014 ceremony.
Among others President of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth, Myanmar President U Win Myint, the Special Envoy of Thailand, Minister Grisada Boonrach, Prime Minister of Bhutan Dr Lotay Tshering and President of Bangladesh Md Abdul Hamid are also witness to the momentous occasion.
In 2014 ceremony also, Mr Shah, who was general secretary incharge of Uttar Pradesh, was seen receiving Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav for the function. (UNI)
