New Delhi, May 25 : Bihar unit of Janata Dal (United) president Bashistha Narain Singh was accorded a grand welcome on Saturday at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here after he led the party to a marvellous victory in the Lok Sabha polls in the state.
The party had contested on 17 seats and emerged victorious on 16. It could not win the Kishanganj seat and lost to Congress nominee Mohammad Jawed.JD(U) Youth wing General Secretary Syded Nazam greeted Mr Singh on his arrival at the airport following which hundreds of JDU workers raising slogans hailing the party's stupendous win in Bihar.
"We have gathered here to welcome our leader. It's a huge victory for us. It was possible only because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Bashistha Narain Singh," Mr Nazam said.
Mr Singh has arrived to attend the meeting of NDA leaders in the National Capital. As per the reports, the NDA leaders-led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will stake claim for the next government formation.On Friday, the Prime Minister had submitted his resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind.
