New Delhi, May 21 : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday issued a gag order, prohibiting its officials to interact with media.
In a memorandum issued by Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra to all officers and officials at headquarters and regional headquarter, the federal financial probe agency warned its officers that any deviation from the order would amount to ‘dereliction of duty’ and would invite punitive action.
"It has been observed that certain information relating to ongoing investigations have been published in the media. These information relating to impending action may jeopardise the interests of ongoing investigations," the memorandum reads.
Henceforth any officer other than the authorised officer if found interacting with the media, the same should be brought to the knowledge of the principal special director or undersigned (Director) immediately", the memorandum reads further.
