Pune, May 15 : Conditions between May 18-19 would be favourable for advancement of southwest monsoon over the southern part of Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands as well as adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, the weather department said.
Day temperatures were above normal in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Vidarbha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north interior Karnataka, Kerala and in remaining parts of Tamil Nadu.
Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
Day temperatures were below normal in some parts of east Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, east Madhya Pradesh and in remaining parts of west Uttar Pradesh as well as west Rajasthan.
Day temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, west Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, and west Rajasthan and were markedly below normal in some parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Day temperatures were normal over rest of the country. The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was 45.2 degrees celsius in Chandrapur of Vidarbha in Maharashtra.

Heavy rainfall was very likely to lash at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep. (UNI)
