CISF restores a bag containing Rs 55,760 to the rightful owner in Delhi metro

New Delhi, May 11: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Saturday restored a bag containing Rs 55,760 to the rightful owner at Shivaji stadium metro station here.

According to CISF, on May 11 around 10.30 am, a CISF personnel during duty noticed an unattended bag lying on the output roller of scanning machine at Shivaji Stadium metro station. He enquired nearby passengers but no one came forward to claim the bag. Immediately, the bag was checked from security point of view and the CCTV footage was reviewed. The matter was informed to Senior Officers of CISF and Station Controller.

After ascertaining that there was no dangerous or hazardous item inside the bag, it was opened in presence of Station Controller. On opening of the bag, cash amounting to Rs 55,760 and other valuables were found.
When the CCTV footage reviewed, it came to notice that a lady passenger forgot to collect her bag from scanning machine and went inside the metro premises.
In the meantime, a lady passenger namely Ms Suruchi Agrawal of Raipur (CG) came at security point and claimed the bag. She was taken to the Station Controller Room where she informed that she came to Delhi for the purpose of VISA. After proper verification, the bag containing Rs 55760 and other valuables was restored to her. UNI
