Morena, MP, May 4: Bahujan Samaj Party supremo and erstwhile Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati warned on Saturday that the Congress might have to pay the price “with interest” for the loss caused through its “purchase” of the BSP’s Guna parliamentary constituency candidate Lokendra Singh Rajput.
“Madhya Pradesh’s Congress dispensation is yet to effectuate agrarian debt waiver, which the party promised to complete within ten days of government formation. Employment opportunities and enhancement in dearness allowance did not see the light of day. My party’s nominees are being threatened through misuse of official machinery and incarcerated on the basis of fabricated charges,” the visiting politician alleged while addressing an election rally in this divisional headquarters.
Turning her gun on the Narendra Modi administration, she averred that the borders are insecure even as terror attacks keep resulting in martyrdom of Indian personnel; therefore the regime proved to be an unalloyed failure vis-a-vis fulfilling responsibilities.
“It was the Congress that was mostly in the saddle at the Centre and this state but development could not be achieved. Dalits and other harassed persons did not truly benefit from reservation,” Ms Mayawati said. (UNI)
